A constant, regular injection of aesthetic error
Glitchr is a little script that will pull jpeg images from the Tumblr blogs I follow, select one at random, glitch it and then upload it back onto my own blog at http://rumblesan.tumblr.com.
It runs about every hour 24/7 and includes attribution info back to the original image/post/blog.
At the moment the glitches are just created by playing with the quantisation tables in the JPEG binary file. The results are pretty good but can be a little aggressive sometimes. Now that everything is pretty much running I'm going to be working on tweaking and extending the range of glitches.
Many thanks to @michaelhelmick for the python-tumblpy library. It's solid, light weight and saved me a lot of time.
